Mr. Ronnie Tham

Director, Global Sourcing, Wal-Mart Stores. Inc

Ronnie Tham is the Director responsible to lead Walmart Global Sourcing’s sustainability strategy and raw materials sourcing. He is leading the roll out of Walmart’s Project Gigaton, a commitment to reduce emissions in Walmart’s global supply chain by 1 billion metric tons of emissions - a gigaton - by 2030.  This is part of Walmart’s science-based emissions reduction target, which also includes a goal to reduce emissions in its operations by 18 percent by 2025. In addition, Ronnie directs Walmart’s efforts in developing sustainable products, working with global suppliers on key initiatives such as packaging transformation, factory and product energy efficiency. Since joining Walmart in 2009, Ronnie held other leadership roles in strategy, business transformation, social and environmental compliance programs. 

Prior to Walmart, Ronnie worked as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he helped companies across the region in strategy development, corporate planning, organizational transformation and change management. He graduated with an MBA from Waseda University in Tokyo as a Monbukagakusho Scholar and read accounting and finance at University of Warwick, UK.
